Meeting MP Victoria Prentis

Jul 28, 2021 | Jobs, Our News

On Tuesday 27th July 2021 we joined Banbury’s Job Centre in Oxford for an interview day, to meet and consider potential candidates on the Government Kickstart Scheme. Whilst there, we had the pleasure of meeting local Member of Parliament Victoria Prentis, who was eager to hear about the Kickstart Scheme in more detail.

The Kickstart Scheme is a Government programme which provides funding to create new 6-month job opportunities for 16-24 year olds at risk of long term unemployment. One of the benefits of this scheme is that employers are giving a potentially life changing opportunity to start a new career in a range of different industries, whilst upskilling a whole new generation as part of a wider post-pandemic economic recovery. Bringing in young people also provides a company with fresh ideas that can really help a business grow. Giving new opportunities to those who need them most is at the centre of Skills Beyond School’s ethos, so the Kickstart Scheme was a no-brainer when considering candidates for roles within our organisation.

MP Victoria Prentis said:

“The scheme is a brilliant way for businesses of all sizes to provide a 6-month fully funded job opportunity for young people aged 16 to 24.”

We are delighted that Victoria will be joining us in our office at the start of October, to see how our new Kickstart employees are getting on.
